BILLY MOHLER

BECCA MOHLER

Becca grew up in Boston, MA and started piano lessons at age 5. By 12 years old, her love of music (especially that of 60’s folk and alternative rock) led her to the guitar. She studied classical guitar throughout high school, participated in her school choral group, and performed in numerous musical theater productions.

Graduating from The George Washington University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, Becca stayed in DC after college to work at the legendary 9:30 Club. It was in DC that she got her first job in the music industry working for BMG. Becca quickly took on the creative rolls at the label and was promoted to head of Alternative Music Marketing for New England.

Becca made the move to Los Angeles to start her future with Billy and shortly thereafter they formed a band together called The Pop Kids with Becca on bass guitar. The Pop Kids evolved into War Tapes and she quickly found herself in a band that would soon be hand picked to open for the Smashing Pumpkins. The band was signed by Sarathan Records in Seattle and went on to tour across the US, Canada, and the UK. War Tapes played/toured with Tiger Army, VNV Nation, The Bravery, Shiny Toy Guns, Moving Units, Jonathan Richman, Elefant, Longwave, She Wants Revenge, The Unseen, The Growlers, and many others.

Becca still plays in War Tapes and is working on a musical side project. But most recently she has taken on her most important and well loved roll to date, that of being a mom. She lives in Cal Heights Long Beach with her husband Billy, their 3 kids, their dog and cat.
